Indians Blow Lead, Sweep of Reds
CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Before the 400th consecutive sellout at Jacobs Field,
the Cleveland Indians gave their fans a performances to forget.

Ken Griffey Jr. tied the game with a three-run homer in the eighth inning and Aaron
Boone delivered a two-run single in the 13th as the Cincinnati Reds rallied for a 7-5
victory over the Indians and salvaged the finale of the three-game series.

Three relievers combined to hold the Indians scoreless over the final six innings and
help the Reds snap a five-game losing streak.

The Indians squandered a five-run lead in the eighth and had their first blown save
since May 29. Cleveland lost for just the third time in 12 games.

Griffey started the rally in the 13th with a single and went to third when second
baseman Roberto Alomar fielded a bunt single by Michael Tucker and threw the
ball wildly past first base. Dmitri Young was intentionally walked and Boone singled
sharply to left field off Scott Kamieniecki (1-3), the fifth Cleveland pitcher.

Manny Aybar (1-2), the fifth Cincinnati pitcher, pitched two scoreless innings.

Omar Vizquel had a rough day for the Tribe, going hitless in seven at-bats and
grounding into a double play to end a threat in the 10th.
