Jacobs Field

Here you can find out interesting facts about the Tribe's home, Jacobs Field.

Jacobs Field, AKA "The Jake," opened in April of 1994. It is named after now former Indians owner Dick Jacobs. Jacobs sold the team this past winter for a record million to new owner Larry Dolan, but the stadium will remain under the name "Jacobs Field" for the next several years to come.

Urban Ballpark:Jacobs Field is an urban ballpark in the truest sense, both architecturally and aesthetically. Built within the physical boundaries of three main streets in downtown Cleveland (Ontario to the west, Carnegie to the south, and E. 9th Street to the east), Jacobs Field offers a fan-friendly facility featuring an intimate environment. The exposed steel design, which matches that of the many bridges on the Northcoast, and the vertical light towers, which match the smoke stacks of Cleveland's industrial zone and the high-rise office buildings in Cleveland's growing downtown area, are just a couple of Jacobs Field architectural features that blend with Cleveland's cityscape.
